About This Course
COSHH explores how the risk of hazardous, flammable and explosive substances can be reduced and controlled in the workplace by complying with COSHH. The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulation (COSHH) was put in place so that there was a singular health and safety rule for businesses across the UK dealing with hazardous substances to abide by. It was amended in 2002. COSHH is a dynamic online course that teaches you how to follow COSHH (2002) so that you can protect yourself, or your employees, from the dangers of such substances.

Who is this course for?

This online course is designed for anyone who may come into contact with hazardous substances during their time at work. COSHH is ideal as an induction course on health and safety for employees or as refresher training for employers. COSHH is also suitable for anyone who wants to learn about the 2002 Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulation.

What will you get from this course?

You will understand how people can be exposed to hazardous substances and what the risks are of this. You’ll also be able to follow COSHH and implement its principles within your work environment, whilst assessing and identifying any dangers present.

When you have completed this course, you will be able to:
- Understand COSHH regulations and interpret current and international COSHH signage
- Describe employer and employee responsibilities when it comes to safety
- Explain the risks and dangers of toxic, corrosive and flammable substances
- Identify and assess risks and put the correct measures in place to avoid them
- Record the correct information on safety data sheets

At the conclusion of each module there is a multiple choice question assessment. This will help you remember the main points of the lesson and act as a check that you have retained the essential knowledge and understanding of that particular section. The results can be seen instantaneously and you can correct wrong answers. When the result is satisfactory you can progress to the next module.
